This matieral came straight from near the mine sites in he tian China and were obtained from local miners. It is untreated material.
Greyish Green Color
Hetian jade is typically associated with white (mutton fat), yellow, or green nephrite.
Greyish green is less common than the white varieties, but it's still authentic and can be quite attractive.
The green tint comes from iron or chromium content in the jade.
Grey tones may indicate weathering or inclusion, or a lower iron content.
"Candied"
This term usually refers to the jade having a slightly translucent, glassy, or glazed look—similar to candied fruit.
Hetian Jade RoughRefers to unshaped, uncarved material in its natural or lightly processed form.
Genuine rough nephrite from Hetian (Hotan), Xinjiang is prized, especially if:
It's dense, fine-grained, and untreated.
Has good color and texture, and minimal visible fractures.
River-worn pebbles (also called "seed jade") are especially valued in rough form.
