With the US dollar in decline this is a perfect investment grade stone! Not only will it hold its value against a falling dollar it will increase rapidly as we have been seeing with all gemstones.
All cutting angles for this stone are well within the GIA Gemological Institute of America's standards set out for cutting. All gems have what is called an RI or refractive index. Different gems have different RI's. RI is an angle telling the amount light refracts or bends as it enters a different medium. These GIA cutting angle standards ensure full brillant reflection and no window or excessive extinction. GIA claims unless these standards are adhered to the stone is not yet gem quality so beware when you purchase gems! Recutting is expensive and your grinding away precious material. To get a properly cut gem grinds away far more of the rough than cutting for weight. Example;- A stone cut with an offset pavilion bottom and showing window may lose 50% of its weight during the recutting process. So please be careful. An improperly shaped 4.5 ct cut stone could quickly become a 2.5 ct stone after proper cutting. The difference in value of a properly cut 4.5 ct gem and a 2.5 ct gem is around a 90% drop!
Super brilliant reflection in this stone because of the perfection of the cut. Intense vivid red color with VVS impurities inside.
This is from the famous Luc Yen Vietnam gem deposits which were formed under the same geological conditions as Myanmar's ruby spinel sapphire deposits. This deposit is in the same marble layer that occurs in Myanmar Burma runs across Laos and into Northern Vietnam. Luc Yen is only around 450 miles from the Man Sin deposit where the Jedi spinel came from. This one is like the finest ruby in color. It's hard to stop staring at this captivating intense red color.
Rest assured this stone is 100% natural and untreated.
Mined from under the rice fields in the alluvial gravels in the shallow valley near the original marble deposit. Rubies and sapphire are also associated with this deposit similar to the Burma deposit.
I was a geologist before I became a gem enthusiast/gemologist. My business plan is to bring the better quality cut gemstones to my customers and protect them from buying inferior cut stones that end up becoming a mistake.
I believe this is the best cut gem spinel on the market at this time anywhere for the price. This stone is "superior" to Yavorskyy quality cutting who is a world renowned gem enthusiast whom I respect and admire. Check his website if you understand cutting from videos and see for yourself. You want a gem quality cutting identification lesson send me a message and I'd be happy to give you a tutorial.
