Golden  quartz is the lemon yellow variety of quartz. Citrine and Amethyst are both in the quartz family of gemstones.Quartz is one of the most versatile gemstones on earth. Many people do not know that some of the most popular gems such as citrine, amethyst, onyx and chalcedony are varieties of quartz.

 

Since most quartz has been heated to enhance its color, the stones should be kept away from prolonged exposure to strong light or heat.
