NOTE: These Songea rubies were obtained in 1998 before treatments such as heat and beryllium were used and are now common. Some laboratories consider Songea Rubies to be a Sapphire due to lacking Chromium and additional heat and beryllium treatment which gives them a reddish-orange appearance (almost all other rubies apart from Songea Rubies contain Chromium lending to their red color). It is debatable as red corrundum technically is considered to be ruby. In the case of these Songea Rubies, they are not treated (NO HEAT, NO BERYLLIUM). These gemstone are rare and collectable.
