Peridot is a vibrant yellow-green to olive-green gemstone, prized for its fresh, luminous color. It is the gem-quality variety of the mineral olivine and is one of the few gemstones that occurs in only one color family, with variations caused by iron content.

Color: Light green to deep olive green, sometimes with golden or brownish tones
Luster: Glassy (vitreous)

Hardness: 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale
