THE FRAME IS NICE THICH WOOD ADDED LATER BUT VERY NICE, THE SURFACE IS PLAIN WHICH LEAVES IT OPEN FOR ETCHING IF YOU WISH TO ADD TO THE ANTIQUE DESIGN. IRISH HAVE FAVORED BUTTERFLIES FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS. BUTTERFLIES ARE SAID TO BE AN AID IN THE COMMUNICATION WITH OUR LOVED ONES.
