DIASPORE SPECIMEN
This is a natural specimen from Turkey. It has been opened on its cleavage so one side is a natural polish making it a ideal specimen or for natural raw jewelery.
Note there can be a rainbow reflection from fractures in the stone-there is not much colour change in this specimen.
Turkish Diaspore is the color changing variety of the mineral diaspore (an aluminum hydroxide), discovered in the Kucukcamliktepe and Buyukcamliktepe mines of the Ilbir Mountains in the Milas county of MuÄŸla in southwestern Turkey in the early 1950s.
