San Diego California business selling stunning stones from all over the world. All stones shipped from San Diego Gemstones have been a hobby of mine for a very long time. My dream was to be able to go to GIA and get my graduate degree in Gemology. 2 years ago that dream came true, Going to GIA has been far more that I could have hoped for. My friend and business partner came to me when he found out I was going to GIA and told me that his parents had been gem dealers, my friend and I are both in our 60s and we are semi retired as well. His parents have been retired for 30+ years now. They had developed quite a name for themselves at the large gem shows like the Tucson Gem show. My friend then told me that he still had all their gems sitting in a safe. I was shocked at what I saw, in that safe was well over 150,000 carats and over 50 different types of gems. That's when our partnership was formed. We both absolutely love gemstones and have had a lot of fun at this. I will go over where the safe is stored and go through and pick out more gems to list, Seeing all those amazing gems just blows my mind. When I come home it usually takes me a day or two to come down out of the clouds and start sorting, identifying, grading. and researching prices. I have always heard that if you do what you love it will never feel like work. and its true. At 60 years old this is my second career and it is defiantly a lot of fun.

Why are users outbidding themselves?

When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a user is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on that users behalf, incrementally increasing the bid to maintain their position as the highest bidder, up to the specified maximum.

When there is an icon indicating 'Auto Bid,' it means our system is actively placing bids for the user based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if users are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the users maximum limit.

Audit

The Gemstone Sheriff program allows our members to request an audit on any product, which is completed by an independent Gemologist who assesses the accuracy of the item description and pictures.
