BOURNONITE, QUARTZ SPECIMEN
Bournonite is a sulfosalt mineral species, trithioantimoniate of lead and copper with the formula PbCuSbS3.

A wonderful example consisting of well formed black Bournonite crystals on terminated Quartz crystals. Specimen is interesting under magnification, view the gear-shaped, clearly striated crystals of Bournonite crystals close up. Although crystals are obvious to the naked eye, specimen requires magnification in order to fully enjoy the crystal structures. Specimens from this locality come from old miners and were found decades ago. The locality is hardly known to the mineral world and specimens from this locality are now found in private collections. Hardly any of this material from this locality is available on the market which makes it a rare specimen (google search). Specimen comes from the historically mined but now closed and refilled upper levels of Olympiada mine in Northern Greece. Will be a great addition to any rock and mineral collection. This is a super opportunity to get hold of this classic Greek material, from the long time gone heydays.
