A nice specimen consisting of well formed transparent terminated Quartz crystals, some crystals are partly covered yellow by thin iron oxides film. Specimen is very interesting under magnification. Although crystals are obvious to the naked eye, specimen requires magnification in order to enjoy the range of interesting structures and formations. Nowadays it is extremely unusual to find specimens from Serifos island as there is a ban for collecting in effect. This specimen along with others I will be offering were collected prior to the ban decades ago. Specimens from this locality come from old miners and were found decades ago. The locality is hardly known to the mineral world and specimens from this locality are now found in private collections. Hardly any of this material from this locality is available on the market which makes it a rarer specimen (google search). Will be a wonderful addition to any rock and mineral collection.
