Garnets can be red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, pink and clear/colorless. The rarest colour is the blue garnet which was discovered in Madagascar in the 1990’s. As abrasive the garnet sand is used for sand blasting, mixed with high pressure it can be used for cutting steel and other products.
