Padparadscha is considered as the most beautiful and valuable of corundum gems. It is commonly found in Sri Lanka. Also found to be from Madagascar and Tanzania.
The chemical composition of Padparadscha is Al2O3 and the color of the gem is caused by the Iron and Chromium. A 9.0 Mohs scale of mineral hardness make Padparadscha Sapphire a desirable gem to wear in jewelry.
