Beautiful sphalerites are highly prized by collectors, especially when they are well-formed and exhibit attractive colors. Transparent, faceted sphalerites are often used as gemstones. These stones are very rare, and the only mine in Spain has been closed for years.
The sphalerite from the Mina Las Manforas in Spain is world-renowned for its stunning crystallization, luster, and color. Due to its reddish-yellow hue resembling caramelized sugar, the mineral is known in Spain as "Blenda Acaramelada." Most of the sphalerite has been cut into gemstones. Their color and transparency make them valuable and highly sought-after. These stones are both precious and exceptionally rare.
