Gr- 48 This stone was cut from the Torrington emerald crystal parcel I acquired a long time ago when a new pegmatite containing emerald crystals was discovered outside of the Torrington township by a fellow who was re-grading a bush track and stopped to relieve himself. He noticed a strange piece of green glass that the bulldozer blade had uncovered and upon examination found it to be a emerald crystal. the Torrington area was known to have emerald crystal deposits but it was this discovery that put Torrington crystals "on the map"
