A wonderful example of a specimen now found only in private collections from this locality consisting of pink Rhodochrosite with a nice saturation of color and well formed Boulangerite (hair-like crystals) on one side. Boulangerite is a sulfosalt mineral and typically forms in a unique crystal habit of fine acicular crystals that appear as woven, hair-like fibers. Specimen looks interesting under magnification as there is detail to explore, enjoy viewing the rare metallic lustrous needles of iridescent Boulangerite, Boulangerite is a not so well known species and I have not seen any in private collections. The locality is hardly known to the mineral world and hardly any of this material from this locality is available on the market which makes it a rare specimen (google search). Specimen comes from the historically mined but now closed and refilled upper levels at the Olympiada mine in Northern Greece.
