KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE ShangrilaGems are an Anglo Indian company with many years experience in the gemstone industry. Through our network of contacts we are able to source rare and interesting items. We also gain advanced insight of new gemstone treatments that are coming on to the market so we are knowledgeable when gemstones are presented to us. It is crucial for us to keep our knowledge current to accurately represent our items. New gemstone treatments are invented all the time!

MANUFACTURING AND SHORT ROUTE TO MARKET We own a manufacturing outlet in Jaipur, India where we cut many of our stones – so the route to market is short and our stones are not only great quality but great value. We have a group of cutters that were trained by an Idar Oberstein master cutter, hence the impeccable quality of our range of precision cut gems - please see our Rare gem cut section. ETHICAL MANUFACTURING Our gems are ethically manufactured with no children and good working conditions. We cannot guarantee ethical practices at the gem mines as we can’t see what is happening. And if we can’t see it we can’t guarantee it is ethical. This is our philosophy.

HIGH QUALITY GEMSTONE VERIFICATION ShangrilaGems use the best quality gem identification and testing equipment to ensure authenticity. This includes a refractometer, Chelsea Filter, polariscope, 30 times magnification loupe and high quality microscope and digital measuring devices. Our equipment is manufactured in Switzerland and Germany to the highest specification.

ALL TREATMENTS ARE STATED Many gem sellers don’t understand gem treatments or maybe know about them but do not disclose them. This is not acceptable. ShangrilaGems give clear indications of all treatments to our customers.

HONEST PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ShangrilaGems make huge investments in photographic and video equipment and spend a large amount of time to obtain the most realistic shots of our items. Our photos and videos are not enhanced in any way; dust spots aren’t even removed. We will take photos of the items on different backgrounds to give you a true idea of what you are buying.

RETURNS Not happy with your item? You have 14 days from delivery to return the item to us. All items have an unconditional money back guarantee as long as they are returned exactly as they arrived.
