Nice brilliant reflection in this stone. VS clarity. Red color.
This is from Luc Yen Vietnam. This deposit is in the same marble deposit that occurs in Myanmar Burma. Luc Yen is only around 750 kms from the Man Sin deposit where the Jedi spinel came from. I see a some calling dim burgundy red spinel Jedi which couldn't be further from the truth. This one is like fine ruby.
This stone is 100% natural and untreated.
Mined from under the rice fields in the alluvial gravels in the shallow valley near the original marble deposit. Rubies and sapphire are also associated with this deposit similar to the Burma deposit. I'm was a geologist before I became a gem enthusiast/gemologist. My business plan is to bring the better quality gemstones to my customers at a better more fair price.
"A 7.02-carat red spinel is a significant, high-value, and rare gemstone, with a market price typically ranging from roughly $140,000 to over $150,000 USD ($20,000+ per carat) for top-quality, untreated stones, especially those of Vietnamese or Burmese origin. Prices vary heavily based on color saturation, clarity, and origin.

Factors Affecting Value:
Color (The "King" Factor): Intense, pure, or slightly orange-red (like ruby) is the most valuable.
Origin: Burmese (Myanmar), Vietnamese, and Tanzanian (Mahenge) are the most coveted.
Treatment: Untreated (natural) stones are significantly more valuable than treated ones.
Clarity: Red spinels are typically clean, but visible inclusions can significantly lower the price.
