Pyrope/Almandine is actually known as Rhodolite.
A mix of the two, and when this mix has a purple component, It's a mix of the two, and when this mix has a purple component, it's known as rhodolite.
• Rhodolite:
A common example of this mixture is rhodolite garnet, which exhibits a purplish-red color due to the presence of both pyrope and almandine, sometimes with traces of spessartine.
• Properties:
Almandine-pyrope garnets, without the purple hue of rhodolite, share similar properties, including being a type II clarity stone with some inclusions.
• Color Range:
These garnets can range from medium-dark to dark red.
• Localities:
They are found in various locations like Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, and Zimbabwe
