Citrine, the November birthstone, is one of the few gemstones that you can own in large sizes for a few hundred dollars. It is simply abundant comparatively speaking and as such, gemstone cutters use it for practice material, to try out new patterns prior to cutting an expensive stone. This one is cut in a pentagon shape with a star in the middle (there are actually 3 stars, but they are difficult to see unless you turn the stone upside down). This stone may have been heated, we don’t know for sure.
