White Diamonds: The Classic Standard
White diamonds, also called colorless diamonds, are the most recognized and widely traded diamond category. The term “white” refers to the absence of noticeable body color when viewed face-up.
Color grading
GIA grades white diamonds on a D-to-Z scale. D, E, and F are colorless and command the highest premiums. G to J are near-colorless and offer strong value, as the tint is hard to detect in mounted stones. Most commercial jewelry uses G to J grades.
The 4Cs
Value is set by Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat Weight. Cut has the biggest impact on brilliance and fire. An excellent cut can make a lower color grade look brighter than a poorly cut D color. Clarity ranges from Flawless to Included, with VS and SI grades being popular for balancing appearance and price.
Sources and types
Major mining regions include Botswana, Russia, Canada, and Australia. Natural white diamonds formed 1 to 3 billion years ago under high pressure and temperature. Lab-grown white diamonds are chemically and optically identical, created via HPHT or CVD methods, and are graded to the same standards.
Uses
Engagement rings, studs, tennis bracelets, and investment stones are common applications. Round brilliant is the most popular cut for maximizing light return, while fancy shapes like oval, cushion, and emerald give distinct character.
Certification
Reputable labs such as GIA, IGI, and GCAL provide reports verifying the 4Cs, fluorescence, and treatments. Untreated natural stones hold the highest long-term value.

Why are users outbidding themselves?
When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a person is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on behalf of the bidder, incrementally increasing the bid up to the maximum to maintain their position as the highest bidder.
When there is an icon indicating 'Automatic Bid', it means our system is actively placing bids for the bidder based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if bidders are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the bidders maximum limit.
